Donation to Fife Festival of Music

Fife Festival of Music was one of two beneficiaries following a concert in Kirkcaldy's Old Kirk, as reported here:

Last Friday's MUSIC in MAY at Kirkcaldy's Old Kirk took place during the recent heatwave - and there were some hot musical performances.

A wide range of musical styles on offer brought obvious joy to the capacity audience with hosts the Langtoun Singers in tremendous voice, repertoire ranging from Two beautiful Northumbrian Folk Songs to Highlights from Chicago. The Langtoun Salon Orchestra also brought its charming Palm Court sound into play with such favourites as Chanson de Matin and Gabriel's Oboe.

Local Ukulele quartet Uke That took a trick with their gentle singing style accompanying themselves with various ukuleles. Their performance included Jolene and The Old Country Waltz.

As always, Music in May donated to local charities, £750 each to Kirkcaldy Foodbank and Fife Festival of Music.

Pictured are, left to right, Liz Banks, Chair of the Langtoun Singers, Jean Galloway, Fife Festival of Music, Brigitte Sweeney, Kirkcaldy Foodbank and Ella Wilson, Conductor of the Langtoun Singers.
