Fife Festival of Music

2015 Period B approaches

Period B of 2015 is fast approaching. Workshops for Young Musicians will be held on Sunday 24th May in Dunfermline High School. Look for the entry form on the website located here.

2015 Period A Ends

The 2015 Period A Festival came to a triumphant conclusion on Friday 6th February with a single event incorporating the Young Musician 2015 and the Young Singers Recital Class: 21 & under. A well filled Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy hosted the event which was a fitting culmination to two weeks of music making in 4 centres throughout Fife: the Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline, the Town Hall, St Andrews and St Bryce Kirk and the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy. Photos from the final night and a list of all the class winners are available on the 2015 Results page.

For a chance to hear what it means to some youngsters to take part in the Fife Fetsival of Music then visit the Fife Youth Arts Hub where a short podcast created by their Youth Reporters has been published.

On Monday 2nd February a jam packed Adam Smith Theatre hosted 12 choirs in a non-competitive class. (Only 3 rows in the 460 seater theatre were available for audience members!) Experienced adjudicator, Frikki Walker, was full of compliments for the choirs and the event itself. The photo below shows a representative from each of the choirs, with adjudicator Frikki Walker on the left, at the end of a hugely entertaining evening.
